Hello Everyone!
I’m Jenna, Store Manager of 15th Ave. You’ve heard about us, come see for yourself!
Be sure to check out our blog frequently as you’ll have the opportunity to meet all of our baristas and learn about out seasonal specials.
Hope to see you soon,
Jenna

Eagerly awaiting your opening.
Congratulations! The store looks beautiful – I wish it was in my neighborhood! Hope opening week is a smashing success.
I plan to check it out tomorrow morning. Awesome idea. I hope it’s a success! And I hope this means great coffee house experiences outside of our city in the not too distant future!
If you are the manager, who is the owner of 15th Ave. Coffee & Tea?
Why did they take the Starbuck’s name off, when your still a starbucks?
Just had lunch and iced tea at the store and I loved it!!! Your team did such a fantastic job – I shared my excitement on Facebook, so hopefully you’ll have a bunch of new fans to satisfy!
You’re a Starbucks, so why all the cloak and dagger with trying to be an indy. I’d have more respect if you just came out and branded it with the old logo. Focus on the core, the coffee. Seriously as a shareholder this store and move is a disappointment.
i visited last Fri eve and very much enjoyed your cafe and the music!
Just stopped by to check the place out. Brilliant design. Reminds me of the original Pike Place store with an upgraded open feel. The raw wood, exposed ceiling, tin ceiling on the wall, outlets cleverly marked, with a majority of the furnishings obviously having been recycled – just great. Everyone was helpful and the service was what other coffee houses should strive for. All in all a fantastic experience. By the way, he Clover coffee system makes the best cup I have ever had – I am just glad to have one in the neighborhood now.
Hey, like the website. Just read through the coffee page, and thought some of the numbers seemed a little bit off. You may want to check on the accuracy of the numbers, for example: the elevation listing of Antigua as 1800-2000 meters. This is quite a bit higher than most of the farms in that growing region. The majority are between 1500-1800 meters. I actually just got back to the states from an internship with an Antigua-region farm (Finca La Azotea) which sells to Starbucks. It is at about 1600 meters.
Also, I think I remember that the Starbucks Espresso blend uses a good dose of Brazilian coffees, which tend to be “low-grown”, definitely below 1800-2000 meters.
Good luck with the new store, will try to visit next time in Seattle. Que le vaya bien!
What happened to the post earlier about the coffee elevations? Did it get deleted?
Way to ruin the clover starbucks…
Is this place owned by Starbucks?
Hi Brendon,
Kellie here, I worked on the website, thanks so much for your comments! I will check in with Major to ensure that our coffee elevations are correct. Hope you can stop in and check out the store, it’s pretty cool!
FRAUD!!!!!!!! FAKE!!!!!!!! PHONY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Howard you are such a moron. Keep running your company to the ground

OH STARBUCKS….. Yes that’s who you are.!!!! No matter how much you change your look and try to COPY the better coffee companies in the neighborhood, some things will never change. Get your own ideas and thoughts. You even copied the looks other coffee companies.Did Stumptown coming to town make you nervous??? Come on!!! You can’t get back what you once had.
Hi Jenna (and staff),
When do you think you’ll start having live music?
I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to have been at a place and event that has the potential of making history in an already well established Starbucks Company. I came up to the 15th Ave Coffee & Tea on the Opening Day, Friday 07-24-09. There are many mixed reviews about the 15th Ave Coffee & Tea and I understand why. As an entrepreneur I see the significance of a move like this on a whole different level. It takes courage to keep renewing a commitment to excellence. I tip my hat to Starbucks for setting the example for others to study and follow. They’ve found a way to blend into a small community’s landscape while keeping the third porch experience alive and local.
Thanks for keeping the Romance of Coffee experience a priority.
How sad this sham is! Starbucks’ service has gone to the devil, and the best idea you have is to start a fake independent coffee shop? Howard, time to retire.
you’re starbucks, why the deception?
Very much enjoyed the Clovered Yirgacheffe. Would love to see more similar style roasts.
Thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Pleasantly shocking and very exciting. A solid step towards further engaging and focusing on the cup and the bean. Good for you, good for the competition and good for the farmer.
For some reason, my post asking about whether or not 15th Ave. Coffee & Tea was owned by Starbucks was deleted. So, I’ll ask it again… are you owned by Starbucks?
Hi Jenna. I just read about your store in the Business Week article about Starbucks, and I’m super excited to try out this new store’s coffee and tea. I’m especially excited to hang out on a Saturday night. But my friends and I keep kosher, and we wondered if your store would consider stocking kosher pastries and delicacies so we could “nosh” while we sip? Either way, we can’t wait to come on in!
yes we are owned by Starbucks:)
we’ve started! most friday nights are booked for the next few months, and we’re starting to fill in our saturday nights and thursday nights as well. if you know of some great local talent that would want to play in our cafe, send them our way!
Wow! You guys had Edwin visit? From Vista Hermosa in Guatemala! Lucky!
As a Barista working at a corporately owned Starbucks, I can definitely answer to a few questions that yes, 15th Ave Coffee & Tea is indeed run by Starbucks corporate. Speaking as a third-party viewer, my personal opinion on why I think Starbucks attempting to “conceal their direct involvement” with this new establishment is because everyone already knows the typical Starbucks atmosphere; what it’s supposed to be like, what the people, the service, food, drinks and merchandise should be like–the brand of Starbucks is associated with all of this.
However, why I think that Starbucks is avoiding using their name so directly with the Coffee & Tea stores is because they’re trying to create a new atmosphere. Something different from the well-known Starbucks atmosphere–which, by the way, I’m not in the least saying is undesirable or overused–personally, I thoroughly enjoy the general Starbucks environment, and wouldn’t change a thing about it. But what I think Starbucks is trying to bring across with the new Coffee & Tea location is more of what Starbucks used to be–more of an up-close and personal store with a lot more slack for innovative new ideas and variety.
With all the big corporate stores around the globe, it’s been a lot harder for Starbucks to meet the goal of a ‘friendly-neighborhood coffee shop’. Obviously. Just think about all the Starbucks in Seattle, alone. It’s been a lot easier for Starbucks to strive for a ‘third place’, –not necessarily a friendly neighborhood cafe, but at least a nice place to relax and have a nice talk over a well-prepared cup of coffee. Not that this is a bad thing, mind you. It’s just that with all the focus on getting Starbucks to the world, it’s become a lot harder to hold on to the cozy, neighborhood ideal.
So, with the new Coffee & Tea stores, if Starbucks went and openly branded their name over the place, I think it would basically just be like making this 15th Ave Coffee & Tea just another Starbucks location–another store in the great expansion of the company. And, let’s face it, that’s obviously not the direction they look like they’re trying to go with this.
Basically, in keeping the big Starbucks name off the cafe, it makes it a lot easier to give the store the leeway they need to try new ideas you won’t see in normal Starbucks stores–to really be able to stretch their wings, so to speak. Those are my thoughts, anyways. There’s a lot out there in the big world of coffee to still be discovered. If creating these new outlets for some new innovation is going to help open up new possibilities, I say go for it!
Yeah it was really awesome that Edwin stopped in! I am really glad that he enjoyed his experience so much too!
